Nestled on the slopes of the Sabie River Valley,
deep in the Lowveld forest, Tanamera offers luxurious accommodation
and breathtaking scenery. The chalets are surrounded by
unspoilt indigenous bush, with spectacular settings and
views ensuring a relaxing, peaceful stay.
Being centrally located, you are able to explore the Lowveld Panorama
including sights such as God's Window and Pilgrim's Rest.
With the opening of the Kruger National Park - Phabeni Gate, it is a short
20 minute drive into this world-renowned Big Five reserve.
As we only accommodate 8 chalet guests at a time,
your hosts see to your every need, ensuring that you experience
the highest levels of service, comfort and privacy.
Main Lodge
 
The main lodge area is tastefully decorated, and comprises the reception,
dining area, lounge and comfortable bar. The wooden doors open onto
our main deck with loungers, a rimflow pool and
an exceptional view over the cascading Sabie river & valley.
Dinner is normally served in the dining area. However, when the weather is kind,
we set tables outside on the main deck, enjoy your meal under the stars
to the accompaniment of the sounds of the resident bushbabies and Wood owls.
During winter, we stoke up the fireplace and serve wonderful meals indoors.
 
Chalet Accommodation
  
  
Our four magnificent chalets are fully serviced, and boast king-size beds
with mosquito nets, stone baths, waterfall showers, fireplaces,
and private decks from which you can take in the awe-inspiring view.
Each chalet is secluded, private and surrounded by unspoilt indigenous bush -
perfect for romantic getaways. Two of our luxury chalets also have their
own private plunge pools. Meals can be served in our main lodge area,
or if you so wish - privately in your chalet or on your deck.
Rates include dinner, bed and breakfast. Children 16+.
Our fifth executive/honeymoon chalet
has a king-size bed with mosquito net, stone bath, waterfall shower,
fireplace, its private deck from which you can take in the awe-inspiring view,
with added extras such as private swimming pool and outdoor shower on the deck,
a perfect setting to enjoy a romantic sundowner as the sun sets behind
the breathtaking view.
    
  
Self Catering Guestlodge

A self-catering unit, sleeping up to 10 people, offers five double bedrooms, all en-suite, as well as a fully fitted kitchen, dining area, lounge with fireplace, balcony, patio and braai with private pool. The guest lodge is tastefully furnished, all under thatch, giving a lovely comfortable country atmosphere.The unit & lapa area offer a perfect option for family holidays, corporate groups or small weddings. Meals can be arranged on request, and served in your unit. Children welcome.
Activities
Walks
Due to the richness and diversity of the riverine and forest habitat, walks are a favourite with our guests.
Self guided walks are aimed mainly at birders, of all levels, but an inexperienced guest will find it just as interesting and rewarding, especially if some of the more rare species are spotted.
Drives
With the Kruger National Park only 20 minutes away, you can search for the Big Five in an open vehicle accompanied by a FGASA/DEAT guide. Other available trips are Lowveld Panoramic Tours, and trips to interesting destinations, in air-conditioned microbusses. We will undertake transfers for your convenience.
Other activities.
The Lowveld offers a host of activities, and we will gladly advise and arrange these for you. Whatever your fancy, from quad-biking, river-rafting, game drives, 4x4 trails, walks and hot-air ballooning, to quietly sipping a drink basking in the peace of the forest, we are there to indulge you.
